Arlo's First Birthday

Arlo's birthday was almost six months ago, but all of the good photos were on my computer so I had to carve out the time to edit and upload photos!

Arlo's birthday was a bit chillier than we were expecting. Trying not to be drawn in to the Pinterest game, we decided on no theme, and nothing over the top. I think we succeeded.

The food was fried chicken and potato salad, the cupcakes were home made and the location was a park. With as many cousins as Arlo has, this was almost a requirement!

All of Arlo's Aunts were there as well as all of his cousins! Talk about lucky.

It was a great day with low stress and much love!

We made a quad of photos for his monthly shots and printed them out, then had a cut out for 12 months! He smiled at just the right time! :)

Park days

It has been HOT with sky high humidity, so we have been indoors for the majority of August unless we are at the pool. Sad, but true.

Today it was under 90 degrees so we took a quick trip to the park. And all the walking toddlers say AMEN.

Arlo loves the swing still, but got super adventurous on the slide! He hated it at first but eventually warmed up to it as toddlers are wont to do.

We were there for 15 minutes before we decided our blonde headed baby might be a bit too warm. Plus he wouldn't keep his hat on his pale head, so it was not a long trip but he loved it!

Crawled up the whole thing!

Morning Trail Walks

I have a dear friend who is on maternity leave so we have taken to walking on a trail some mornings with our little men. Arlo mostly rides holding two toys and staring - but sometimes he just needs to break out and walk himself!

Last time we were there he picked up a pine cone and much to daddy's dislike it came home with us!

This is such a sweet time we get to have with Jen and Meade!

Home!

In an odd and quick turn of events Jeff and I traded places! He is off to work and I am home. What a GIFT!!

The first week started horribly. Poor beast wanted a sip of my breakfast smoothie and had a violent reaction. Vomiting, rash, shaking, more vomiting. Oh it was so sad. He would only sleep on me, and I didn't mind since I wanted to keep an eye on him anyway.

No more smoothies for either of us!

The rest of the week went a little more smoothly. I am taking care of another baby Monday, Wednesday and Friday, which proved to be quite daunting task. There is a reason our bodies cannot produce two babies eight months apart. These two are WORK!

I have no ohotos from my two baby days because both little ones are obsessed with phones so I have to keep it away when they are around.

I am excited to get into a groove and maybe cut back on taking care of the other baby. I want more time with just Arlo! Being a stay at home mom is such a gift and will be temporary so I want to take advantage of it.

Side note: the two blank blog posts are Atlos most recent contribution to the blog. He's quite good at using this phone!
